Case study Hospitality series

Common Ground

A boutique hotel group that sells out on atmosphere but had never shown the people behind it. We made a four-part series about the staff, the regulars, and the rooms where the city slows down.

SCOPE

Docu-series, photography

TIMELINE

Ten weeks, five shoot days

The challenge

Beautiful rooms are everywhere. Soul isn’t.

Every hotel posts the same golden-hour lobby shots. Common Ground’s real advantage was its people — the night manager who remembers every guest, the chef who forages the menu — and none of that was on camera.

The approach

A documentary eye, a host’s pace.

We embedded a small crew across four properties for a week each, filming at the speed of the house. No scripts, no teleprompters — just long mornings, real conversations, and rooms shot the way guests actually see them.

What we delivered

  • Four-part documentary series, eight to twelve minutes per episode
  • Portrait photography set of staff and spaces for print and web
  • Seasonal cutdowns for booking campaigns and social
  • Lobby loop edit playing across all four properties
