The edit is the interface: pacing content for responsive screens

Responsive screens changed the brief. A single piece of content now premieres on a lobby wall, a phone, and a headset in the same week — and each surface reads at a different speed. Pacing, we learned, is an interface.

Our approach is to cut in layers. The hero layer carries the emotional arc in under thirty seconds: the shots that survive at any size. The discovery layer adds detail for viewers who linger — textural inserts, secondary angles, quiet beats. The ambient layer loops forever without fatigue for spaces where the piece runs all day.

Technically, this means mastering once and finishing three times: reframed, retimed, and remixed for each surface. A cut that breathes on a twenty-foot wall feels glacial on a phone; a phone-paced cut feels frantic in a gallery. We test on the real surface, at the real distance, with real glare and real noise.

The payoff is a library, not a file. One shoot becomes a system of edits that meet every viewer where they stand — literally.
